Are you a technically strong master's student who enjoys building production-grade systems and wants to understand what effective investing looks like in practice?

At Rotrip you'll work within the public markets team on the infrastructure behind our (factor) investment strategies. You'll contribute to systems that are used directly within the investment process. At the same time you'll develop insight into the economic and strategic reasoning behind public-market strategies. This role is intended for candidates with a technical background who are interested in systematic asset management, hedge funds, pod shops or the investment world more broadly.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and extend our data and tooling infrastructure for systematic / factor investing.
  • Build and maintain back-end components such as databases, APIs and internal dashboards.
  • Connect and integrate external data sources and APIs (market data, alternative data, brokers).
  • Automate workflows and reporting for portfolio monitoring, performance and risk.
  • Work with the investment team to turn ideas into robust technical solutions, and discuss the economic logic and strategic role of the strategies you help implement.

Your profile

  • Enrolled in a master's programme in Computer Science, Information Technology, (Quantitative) Finance, Econometrics or a similar technical field.
  • Solid programming skills, preferably in Python.
  • Some experience with back-end development, e.g. working with APIs, databases, data engineering or web back-ends.
  • Enjoy working with data: cleaning, transforming and structuring it for analysis and production use.
  • Interest in public markets, economics, factor investing and/or systematic strategies; you care about both the code and the investment idea behind it.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a curious and proactive mindset and the ability to communicate well with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Proficient in Dutch; available for 4–6 months full-time (40 hours per week). Part-time can be discussed.
  • Has a grade list that shows some effort was put in at university.
  • Gets some enjoyment from talking to people :D.

What we offer

  • A hands-on role at the intersection of technology and public markets investing.
  • Direct exposure to factor investing and our economics-based investment approach, helping you build real economic and strategic intuition over time.
  • The opportunity to own projects that are used in day-to-day investment decisions.
  • A small, entrepreneurial team with short communication lines and a steep learning curve.
  • Competitive internship compensation: € 500 – € 1,000 per month.

As a Private Equity Intern you get broad exposure to investment management. You'll support Rotrip's investment team across deal sourcing, due diligence and collaboration with portfolio companies.

You'll learn across the different investment types Rotrip is active in — from private equity and venture capital to public markets, real estate and funds — building a well-rounded foundation within the family office.

Key responsibilities

  • Empower the investment team of Rotrip with dedicated support and expertise.
  • Assist in the search for new investment opportunities.
  • Conduct commercial, strategic and financial due diligence.
  • Comprehensive market analyses of (potential) investment opportunities.
  • Support and collaborate with our portfolio companies.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, economics, finance or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Fluent in Dutch (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated interest in investments and a proactive mindset.
  • Available full-time (40 h/week) for a consecutive period of 4 to 6 months. Part-time arrangements possible.
